Angola launches a public tender to grant mining rights

The Angolan Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources will launch the first public tender to grant mining rights related with diamonds, iron and phosphates’ prospection and exploration.

The public tender, which, according with the Ministry, will be launched on October 7th, will be held in accordance with the formalities foreseen in the Angolan Mining Code (Law no. 31/11, of 23rd of September) and other relevant legislation.

To promote this public tender and the granting of mining rights, the Angolan Government has organized several Technical Presentations, with the purpose of promoting and informing possible investors about the potential and qualities of each concession, and to answer to any questions from the investors. These Technical Presentations will take place in London (20th September) and New York (30th September).

Five concessions for granting of mining rights will be launched: 2 for diamonds exploration, in the Provinces of Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul; 1 for iron exploration, in the Province of Cuanza Norte; 2 for phosphates exploration, in the Provinces of Cabinda and Zaire.
