Angolan Government proceeds with Mass Privatization of Public Companies II

The Angolan Government has identified 195 public companies that will be privatized by 2022, according to the Privatization Program.

This Program includes the airline company TAAG; the oil company Sonangol (and its airline company Sonair); the national company for manufacturing and marketing diamonds, Endiama; the banks  Banco de Comércio e Indústria (BCI), Caixa Geral de Angola and Banco Económico, as well as the financial companies Ensa Seguros and Bolsa da Dívida e Valores de Angola (BODIVA).

The following entities will also be included in this Program: Aldeia Nova and Biocom (in the agricultural and industrial sectors); Textang II, SATEC and Africa Textil (in textile sector); the cement companies Nova Cimangola and Secil (Lobito); the beer companies Cuca, Eka and Ngola, as well as the construction company Mota-Engil Angola.

In the telecommunication sector, the companies Unitel, MS Telecom, Net One, Multitel, Angola Telecom, TV Cabo Angola, Angola Cables, the National Mail and Telegraph Company of Angola (Empresa Nacional de Correios e Telégrafos de Angola), Angola Communications and Systems (Angola Comunicações e Sistemas) and Phone Book Company of Angola (Empresa de Listas Telefónicas de Angola).

The public tenders, for private participation in 80 companies, are expected to be initiated by the end of this year.
