Anadarko plans to invest 176 million USD in Mozambique

The American oil company Anadarko has announced its intention to invest 176 million USD in the project to explore Natural Gas in Mozambique.

According to the company’s annual report, this amount includes part of Anadarko’s cost associated to the on-going preparation of the site for the land central. This document also mentions that the deadlines are being complied with for a final decision to be issued during this semester.

Investment in infrastructures (roads, buildings, aerodrome, etc.) has been in place for about a year in the Afungi peninsula, Palma district, province of Cabo Delgado, in the north of Mozambique.

The factory to be built will initially be comprised by two units, capable of producing liquified natural gas, mainly to be exported, which may put Mozambique among the largest exporting countries.
